A misdemeanor is a less serious crime which carries with it a maximum time in jail of either one year or sixty days (depending upon severity of the crime.) Misdemeanors can encompass a wide variety of actions including traffic violations, small amounts of drug possession, or physical altercations. Misdemeanor cases are reviewed by county court judges rather than circuit court judges.
For individuals who have not had prior involvement with law enforcement or the legal system, being arrested and tried for a misdemeanor can be a frightening and stressful experience. However, with an experienced attorney on your side, the process is made much less stressful.
If you or a loved one find yourself facing a misdemeanor charge, please call the Consalo Law Firm for a consultation to learn how Marc Consalo can assist you.
